In regards to that outfit, I see that AG has it with the travel set which includes the book and plaid suitcase. Are those worth the $$ or is it going to also be retired in your opinion?

I use Molly's suitcase to store all of her socks and hair ribbons. I agree that it is not practical for packing her clothes, but it is great for smaller items.
I do perceive the Route 66 accessories retiring someday. I honestly do not think it will be anytime soon, but I am not the person who makes decisions regarding retirements, so who knows.
I have the dress and plan to get the accessories for Christmas. I also have the book which is really nice. I don't think I will ever get the suitcase though but you never know!

I haven't read Molly's travel book, but Samantha's is adorable. So "real" to help you feel like you are really looking at her scrapbook. We do have the suitcase. It protects Molly's glasses from 2 and 4yo. It's also really cute.
I don't have the set but I have Kirsten's carpetbag, Sam's valise, and through the generosity of friends, Felicity's travel trunk. I use Kirsten's carpetbag for socks and hair ribbons, Sam's valise for stockings and underwear, Felicity's travel trunk for her mitts and pocket and pocketbook. I say go for the suitcase if you want any of Molly's little stuff! It's a good place to store things.

We purchased all the Route 66 set separately because I thought I remembered pricing it out individually and you only saved a few dollars. I love the Route 66 outfit and the book is really cute. The accessories are nice as well, but please see our previous posts about the camera [img]redface.gif[/img] We had a run of three different sets and the camera didn't work in any. We finally got two extra cameras that work, but now need the rest of the set because I donated the sets we had to the Children's Hospital. Anyway, you have to look down into the camera with a light behind you. If you try to look up into a light as AG tells you to, it won't work. We purchased the suitcase because I remembered someone mentioning they thought it might be retired soon. It is pretty small, but it is adorable and I don't think you would go wrong in getting it for Molly.
